The Illinois Department of Transportation announces the following schedule for lane closures to accommodate work for the Murray Baker Bridge (Interstate 74) for upcoming deck replacement:     March 29 through October 31: All lanes will be closed to traffic from  12:00 a.m. on Sunday March 29 through October 31, 2020.   I-74 EB and WB traffic will be directed to take the marked detour routes through downtown Peoria and East Peoria. Additionally, River Road between Camp Street and Washington Street in East Peoria is closed to traffic turning off eastbound Washington Street (the Bob Michel Bridge) and to traffic turning left off Camp Street toward Washington Street. This will remain closed through the duration of the Murray Baker Bridge project. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.  To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.  Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
