The Illinois Department of Transportation announces the following schedule for lane closures to accomodate work to prepare the Murray Baker Bridge (Interstate 74) for deck replacement later this year. Feb 25-28: The right westbound lane will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb 29: The right westbound lane will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. With winter weather in the forecast, these lane closures may be cancelled as needed. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.  To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.  Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
